breakfast bowl
breakfast is a great meal. it's the first meal of the day, and the possibilities are endless. you could go for a simple bowl of yogurt and granola, a savory eggs benedict, or a sweet stack of pancakes! today, i decided to make myself some oatmeal. i wasn't planning to make artwork out of it...it kinda just happened. you could say that a bowl of oatmeal is like a blank canvas for so many different topping combinations. i topped my oatmeal with strawberries, flaxseeds, blueberries, almond butter, pecans, agave, and a sprinkle of coconut flakes. i also mixed in some cinnamon with the oatmeal which gave it a little more flavor. it was a such a refreshing, tasty meal. i really loved the nuttiness of the almond butter and the lightness of the citrusy fruit.
there isn't one way to make your breakfast bowl. in fact, you could use açaí as a the base instead of oatmeal...or you could use yogurt or cereal. it's up to you! and really, you could top your bowl with whatever you have in your kitchen.
