acai bowls!
I’m a huge fan of acai bowls! If I were a food, I would probably either be an acai bowl or a cannellini bean because I love and eat these foods all the time. At my internship, there was an event for interns called “Learn Something Wednesday,” and I chose to teach my fellow interns about how to make acai bowls in 3 minutes!
It went really well, and it was the closest that I’ve felt to having my own food show (!!!) It was so special making the acai bowl live in front of others and hearing their comments and reactions. I appreciated all the support, and it made me smile when one of the interns asked if I DoorDash acai bowls…maybe I should start doing that.
Acai bowls are super easy to make, and they’re a really great power boost throughout the day. I’m often craving something like an acai bowl after I exercise. Also, a great thing about acai bowls are that there are endless ways to make them. Below, I’ve included a good recipe to get you started, but feel free to customize your bowl by adding your favorite toppings and playing around with the smoothie base. I really enjoy getting creative with how I top my bowls (check out the link to Bare Bowls below, they make some really aesthetic bowls). I’d love to see pictures of your bowls too!
Also, here’s some recs for places that sell great acai bowls in the bay area and beyond:
Palmetto Superfoods - the best acai bowls I’ve had in the bay area…they top their acai bowls with warm overnight oats, chia seed pudding, and they have a selection of all the fruits you can think of
Bare Bowls - super tasty acai bowls with high quality ingredients, on the pricer side but super delicious
Vitality Bowls - really good acai bowls for a cheaper price and bigger servings (a great combo)
Nekter Juice Bar - great acai bowls as well, I especially like the granola that they top their acai bowls with
