Photos from my visit to San Francisco

Day 1

Over Spring Break, I visited my sister in San Francisco for a couple days. We packed so much into a short amount of time! On the first afternoon, we did some of my favorite things. We happened to walk upon a cute hole-in-the-wall bookstore called Dog Eared Books, and I loved walking through the different aisles and flipping through the cookbooks. Another highlight was getting some tasty treats from Dandelion Chocolate…any day with a chocolate dessert is a good day.

Food Recs:

Dandelion Chocolate - The Mission Hot Chocolate tasted like liquid gold. It was perfectly spiced and deliciously creamy. And the oat cookie was delicious too!

Senor Sisig - Filipino and Mexican fusion food; very yummy!

Pancho Villa Taqueria - Great Mexican food for a good price.

Day 2

On the second day, I explored the city on my own for a bit. I biked along the bay to Crissy Field. On the way there, I stopped at The Palace of Fine Arts and walking around the grounds made me feel like I was being transported to ancient Roman ruins. After marveling at the architecture, I hopped back on my bike and made it to Crissy Field where I got a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

For dinner, my sister and I enjoyed dessert first at Ghirardelli followed by dinner at Boudin (we got out priorities straight).

Food Recs:

Ghirardelli - Always a treat to come here. I love the brownies, ice-cream, hot fudge, and hot chocolate. Any chocolate-lovers dream.

Boudin - Classic bakery that has yummy clam chowder and bread bowls. On the touristy side, but still worth a visit.

Day 3

I explored some new areas of the city on the third day. I started my day with an amazing breakfast sandwich from Cafe Reveille on Columbus Avenue. It was fun wandering around different parts of the city, like Chinatown, the business district, and the Ferry area. I ended my day of adventure at the Ferry Building, which is an indoor market with a bunch of food shops inside, including ice-cream parlors, cafes, bakeries, and restaurants. I stopped at a bakery and enjoyed a scrumptious almond croissant while sitting on a bench and looking out onto the bay.

By the end of my two and a half days in SF, I was already so tired and ready to take a nap. We visited so many places, walked around the city (a lot), and stuffed our bellies with much yummy food. I’m really glad that I got the chance to visit my sister in San Francisco, and I hope to go back again soon!

Thanks for having me, Kylie! <3

Food Recs:

Cafe Reveille - Great breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, avocado, and arugula.

Ferry Building - Lots of neat food shops inside.
